When Tonya Anderson, manager of the Casey’s General Store in Perry, learned that Perry’s PACES program was in need of teacher supplies, she proposed a community service project to the Casey’s corporate office.

The project became a reality Thursday when Casey’s delivered 150 teacher wish-list kits to the PACES office in the Perry Elementary School.

Perry PACES Director Mary Hillman welcomed Anderson and several Casey’s corporate representatives, including Community Engagement Manager Angela Wood, District Manager Nick Wakefield, Community Program Coordinator Kelsey McMains and Account Analyst Alyssa Oakley.

The wish-list kits included a variety of classroom necessities, including paper, pencils, pens, folders, chalk, facial tissue, sanitary wipes and even some sweets. Each kit also contained a handwritten thank-you note for the teacher recipient.

Hillman said the kits would supply about 100 teachers and paraeducators at the Perry Elementary School and all 30 of her PACES employees.

The wish-list items were donated by Casey’s employees as part of the community service project. Headquartered in Ankeny, Casey’s employs more than 42,000 people in some 2,150 stores across 16 states.
